Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach French to Key Stage 4 students, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons.
  • Lead and support the development of the Modern Foreign Languages department.
  • Shape and enhance the Key Stage 3 curriculum in line with current specifications and best practice.
  • Inspire students and colleagues through innovative teaching methods and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and external partners to promote the profile of MFL.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives such as Culture Club and planned international trips.
  • Support the implementation of centrally planned assessments to ensure consistency and manageable workloads.
  • Encourage and promote a culture of creativity and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French, particularly at Key Stage 4.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and senior leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or middle leadership role.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or other language teaching methodologies.
  • Familiarity with international educational partnerships or cultural exchange programs.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
