Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the OCR GCSE Music syllabus.
- Promote student achievement and develop literacy and oracy skills across all lessons.
- Support students in preparing for GCSE Music, including performance and composition.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the music curriculum and extracurricular opportunities.
- Encourage student participation in music-related activities and events.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
- Stay up to date with developments in music education and incorporate new ideas into teaching.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education.
- Strong knowledge of the OCR GCSE Music syllabus.
- Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching both instrumental and theoretical aspects of music.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular music activities.
- Familiarity with World Music and Popular Music content.
- Experience working with students of all abilities and backgrounds.
