The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical development of students from Prep through to Senior. This is an opportunity to inspire a love of music, support academic achievement, and contribute to a dynamic and creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and national standards.
  • Maintain a positive, inspiring, and safe learning environment that encourages creativity and student progress.
  • Use ICT effectively to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Assess and monitor student progress systematically, providing constructive feedback and setting meaningful targets.
  • Contribute to the development and review of the school’s music curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving their best possible grades and fostering a passion for music.
  • Collaborate with other staff, including learning support and boarding teams, to ensure consistent student support.
  • Participate in school events, extra-curricular activities, and contribute to the broader life of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced Music Teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of current pedagogy, music curriculum, and assessment practices.
  • Ability to create a positive and motivating learning environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and school policies.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of respect, results, and honesty.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across a range of age groups, including Prep and Senior students.
  • Experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience in contributing to extra-curricular music activities and events.
  • Familiarity with music examinations and assessment requirements.
