The Opportunity:

A part-time PE Teacher is needed to provide maternity cover from September 2026, likely until Easter 2027. The role involves teaching PE and Games across Years 3 to 11, and possibly within Pre-Prep. The successful candidate will contribute to the school’s competitive sports programme and support the co-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach PE and Games across Years 3 to 11, and possibly within Pre-Prep.
  • Coach and motivate sports teams.
  • Deliver GCSE PE lessons where required.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular programme by offering two after-school activities per week.
  • Support pupil wellbeing, teamwork, and confidence through high-quality teaching.
  • Promote a sport for all ethos and ensure all students have access to sporting opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the PE Department.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, pastoral care, and safeguarding.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience of teaching PE at KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to teach GCSE PE.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Strong pastoral care and safeguarding skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular programme.

Preferred

  • Experience with coaching sports teams.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of sport for all initiatives.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support the school’s ethos.
