The Opportunity:
A Science Teacher (GCSE) is sought to join a dynamic department with a focus on high-quality teaching and student engagement. The role involves teaching Science across Years 6–11, including GCSE, and contributing to a successful department with strong outcomes and a vibrant Science Week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science to students across Years 6–11, including GCSE level.
- Deliver engaging lessons that promote curiosity and a deep understanding of Science.
- Support students in achieving strong GCSE results through targeted teaching and revision sessions.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of Science Week and other enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement Science curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Participate in the wider school community, including co-curricular activities and pastoral care.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Science teaching at KS3 and GCSE level.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience with AQA Combined Science or AQA Separate Sciences is an advantage.
Preferred
- Experience with Science Club, STEM Club, or other enrichment activities.
- Experience with GCSE clinics or revision sessions.
- Experience with new laboratory equipment and Science Technician collaboration.
- NQTs with secondary school placement experience are welcome to apply.
