The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Part Time Textiles Teacher to join our Media and Creative Arts team. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning experiences and support their creative development in a dynamic and inspiring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Textiles lessons that engage students and promote creativity and innovation.
- Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and developing their practical skills.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of enrichment activities and extracurricular programs.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Work closely with the Curriculum Area Leader and team to ensure the continued success of the department.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Textiles or a related subject.
- Strong knowledge of Textiles curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
- Commitment to promoting student achievement and personal development.
Preferred
- Experience in a Sixth Form College or similar educational setting.
- Familiarity with CAD, Ceramics, Arts Award, or other enrichment programs.
- Experience with vocational qualifications such as the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design Practice.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
