The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Part Time Textiles Teacher to join our Media and Creative Arts team. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning experiences and support their creative development in a dynamic and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Textiles lessons that engage students and promote creativity and innovation.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and developing their practical skills.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of enrichment activities and extracurricular programs.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Work closely with the Curriculum Area Leader and team to ensure the continued success of the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Textiles or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of Textiles curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Commitment to promoting student achievement and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Sixth Form College or similar educational setting.
  • Familiarity with CAD, Ceramics, Arts Award, or other enrichment programs.
  • Experience with vocational qualifications such as the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design Practice.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
