The Opportunity:
As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in promoting physical education and sport, contributing to the school’s strong extra-curricular programme and helping students develop both physically and personally. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher to gain experience and work towards Qualified Teacher Status.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective physical education lessons that inspire and motivate students.
- Contribute to the school’s high-quality extra-curricular programme, including sports and physical activities.
- Support the development of students’ physical, social, and emotional well-being through sport.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall sporting and academic experience of students.
- Encourage and promote a culture of healthy living and lifelong participation in sport.
- Participate in INSET training and continue professional development.
- Work closely with students, parents, and other staff to support student progress and achievement.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students during physical education and sporting activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- A commitment to working towards Qualified Teacher Status.
- A proactive approach to engaging with young people.
- A qualification or interest in at least one of the school’s core subjects.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or working with young people.
- Knowledge of sports and physical education curriculum.
- Experience with extra-curricular programmes and sporting activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for sport and physical education.
