Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Physics lessons that align with the IB and GCSE curricula.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies that support student progress and achievement.
- Create a stimulating, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and use assessment results to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver coherent teaching programs and support student development in literacy, numeracy, and ICT.
- Uphold and promote the school’s policies, values, and ethos, including pastoral care and extra-curricular involvement.
- Support students with diverse learning needs and manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular and boarding life, including pastoral tutoring and cover duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree in a relevant science discipline.
- PGCE/PGDE qualification.
- GTCS registration.
- PVG (Disclosure Scotland) membership.
- Proven experience teaching Physics at secondary level.
- Experience teaching across a range of ages and abilities.
- Understanding of pastoral support and classroom management.
Preferred
- Experience with the IB curriculum.
- Experience as a form tutor or in a boarding environment.
- Continued professional development in Science education.
- Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities and student leadership programs.
