The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physics Teacher to join a high-performing department known for outstanding results and a vibrant extra-curricular program. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Physics lessons to students across all key stages, including GCSE and A-Level.
  • Support the development of examination techniques and ensure students are well-prepared for public examinations.
  • Participate in and contribute to the department’s extra-curricular activities, including mentoring schemes and science clubs.
  • Manage and maintain well-resourced Physics laboratories and ensure safe and effective practical work.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Provide individualized support to students, including those requiring additional help and those looking to extend their learning.
  • Organize and lead educational trips, such as visits to CERN and Sizewell B.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and the development of future scientists.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Physics or Engineering.
  • Experience in teaching Physics at GCSE and A-Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Commitment to student achievement and a track record of supporting students to succeed in public examinations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in mentoring or leading extra-curricular science activities.
  • Familiarity with the AQA Physics curriculum.
  • Experience with the British Physics Olympiad or similar programs.
  • Experience with the Isaac Science program or similar university collaborations.
