The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and committed Prep School Classroom Teacher for a temporary position during the Autumn Term 2026. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is eager to contribute to a supportive and inspiring learning environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and pastoral care to students aged 7 to 13.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with departmental schemes of work and curriculum requirements.
  • Prepare students for tests and examinations, ensuring they meet academic standards.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment that fosters good behaviour and academic progress.
  • Keep detailed records of student work, attendance, and performance in accordance with school policy.
  • Mark student work regularly and provide constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, parent meetings, and other school events as required.
  • Support the Boarding Team with weekend duties and participate in extracurricular activities and the clubs programme.
  • Oversee a form group and contribute to the pastoral care of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience in teaching students aged 7 to 13.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment practices.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take responsibility for pastoral duties.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding or day school setting.
  • Familiarity with marking and preparing coursework in line with specification requirements.
  • Experience with academic data analysis and student performance tracking.
  • Flexibility to undertake weekend and out-of-hours duties as required.
