The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Prep School Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in a dynamic and inspiring classroom environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning activities within the classroom under the guidance of a class teacher.
  • Assist in the delivery of lessons and the management of classroom resources and materials.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils to enhance their learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the classroom and promote a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure the needs of all pupils are met.
  • Monitor and support pupil behavior and progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions to enhance teaching practices.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom activities and assessments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a school setting, ideally as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy classroom environment.
  • Commitment to supporting pupil learning and development.
  • Flexibility to work either full time or part time (up to 0.8 FTE) and to be based in either Pre-Prep or Lower Prep.

Preferred

  • Experience with Learning Support or special educational needs.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Experience in a co-educational or boarding school environment.
  • Knowledge of curriculum subjects and teaching methodologies.
