The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons using Quality First teaching strategies
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals
  • Participate in assessments and curriculum planning for students with special educational needs
  • Support students with complex behaviours using positive and proactive approaches
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic care and education
  • Stay up to date with SEN principles, policies, and best practices
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs and autism
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to manage complex behaviours and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Commitment to working in a multi-disciplinary team

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Familiarity with national curriculum assessments and special arrangements
  • Creativity and enthusiasm in teaching delivery
  • Experience in a specialist education setting
