The Opportunity:
As a School Cleaner, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe environment that supports learning and well-being. Your attention to detail and commitment to high standards will ensure that all areas of the school meet the required levels of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal spaces.
- Carry out additional or one-off cleaning tasks as required.
- Work flexibly around the school timetable, adapting to events and activities.
- Use and store cleaning materials safely and in line with COSHH regulations.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and report when stock needs replenishing.
- Identify and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Support the school’s safeguarding standards through vigilance and safe practice.
- Collaborate with the Site Manager and wider school team to ensure consistent standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in cleaning, ideally within a school or similar environment.
- Understanding of COSHH and safe cleaning procedures.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Punctual, reliable, and professional at all times.
- A positive, team-focused attitude.
- Commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of children and young people.
- Full UK Driving Licence
Preferred
- Experience working in a specialist education setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
