Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook school meals in line with nutritional standards and recipes.
  • Assist with food service, presentation, and the cleaning of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, health, and safety in all aspects of food preparation and handling.
  • Adjust recipes and portion sizes to accommodate changes in meal demand.
  • Support training and development by attending required courses and meetings.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen and dining areas during service times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in a catering environment.
  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain food quality and presentation standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Flexibility to work across different shifts and duties as required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in a busy catering environment or similar setting.
