The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Science Laboratory Technician to support science teaching at KS3, KS4, and KS5. This role is essential to ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely, while maintaining high standards of equipment and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain science equipment and resources for practical lessons
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the laboratory
- Support science staff with the delivery of lessons and experiments
- Manage and organize laboratory stock and consumables
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of science equipment
- Collaborate with the lead technician and science department
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory usage and inventory
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for students and staff
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a laboratory or educational setting
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to supporting student learning and achievement
Preferred
- Previous experience as a science technician in a school
- Knowledge of science curriculum at KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Experience with laboratory equipment and maintenance
- Training in first aid or emergency procedures
