Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible science lessons tailored to the needs of individual students
  • Foster positive relationships with students to support their learning and personal development
  • Plan and prepare high-quality resources and lessons that promote progress and challenge
  • Manage the classroom effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess and mark student work to support learning and track progress
  • Work collaboratively with the school leadership team and other staff to support student success
  • Participate in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge
  • Promote the importance of science and its relevance to students’ everyday lives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Science Teacher with relevant subject knowledge
  • Experience in teaching within an alternative provision setting
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver effective, engaging science lessons
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and personal development
  • Experience in working with students who have faced barriers to learning

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering science education to a range of ability levels
  • Experience with continuous professional development and staff training
  • Familiarity with alternative provision and special educational needs
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
