Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and accessible science lessons tailored to the needs of individual students
- Foster positive relationships with students to support their learning and personal development
- Plan and prepare high-quality resources and lessons that promote progress and challenge
- Manage the classroom effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assess and mark student work to support learning and track progress
- Work collaboratively with the school leadership team and other staff to support student success
- Participate in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge
- Promote the importance of science and its relevance to students’ everyday lives
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Science Teacher with relevant subject knowledge
- Experience in teaching within an alternative provision setting
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
- Ability to plan and deliver effective, engaging science lessons
- Commitment to student wellbeing and personal development
- Experience in working with students who have faced barriers to learning
Preferred
- Experience in delivering science education to a range of ability levels
- Experience with continuous professional development and staff training
- Familiarity with alternative provision and special educational needs
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
