The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher / Head of Psychology to deliver high-quality education and lead a dynamic department. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum, inspire students, and contribute to a thriving academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that motivate and challenge students.
  • Plan and assess high-quality lessons that support student progress and achievement.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental resources.
  • Lead and manage the Psychology teaching team as Head of Subject.
  • Ensure consistency, high standards, and strong outcomes across A Level Psychology.
  • Oversee careers in the curriculum, including seminars, research skills, and progression support.
  • Model exemplary practice and lead on quality assurance within the department.
  • Analyse data and use tracking reports to monitor student progress and outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
  • Teaching qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience in delivering engaging lessons that create a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in supporting teacher development through learning walks and observations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and students.
  • Experience in developing and implementing assessment, feedback, and intervention strategies.
  • Confidence in analysing data and using tracking reports to monitor student progress.
  • Experience in promoting aspirational next steps and personal skills development for students.
