The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher / Head of Psychology to deliver high-quality education and lead a dynamic department. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum, inspire students, and contribute to a thriving academic community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that motivate and challenge students.
- Plan and assess high-quality lessons that support student progress and achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental resources.
- Lead and manage the Psychology teaching team as Head of Subject.
- Ensure consistency, high standards, and strong outcomes across A Level Psychology.
- Oversee careers in the curriculum, including seminars, research skills, and progression support.
- Model exemplary practice and lead on quality assurance within the department.
- Analyse data and use tracking reports to monitor student progress and outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
- Teaching qualification or working towards it.
- Experience in delivering engaging lessons that create a positive learning environment.
- Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Experience in supporting teacher development through learning walks and observations.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and students.
- Experience in developing and implementing assessment, feedback, and intervention strategies.
- Confidence in analysing data and using tracking reports to monitor student progress.
- Experience in promoting aspirational next steps and personal skills development for students.
