The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Director, you will lead and shape the school’s pastoral provision, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed academically and personally. This role is central to the school’s mission of creating a positive, forward-thinking learning environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of a two-year personal development curriculum for students.
- Manage and develop a team of Pastoral Leads and Progress Tutors.
- Monitor and support student academic progress through targeted interventions.
- Shape and implement inclusive, forward-thinking pastoral care models.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive improvement and strategy.
- Ensure a high standard of student wellbeing and support across the institution.
- Foster a culture of care and high expectations within the pastoral team.
- Support students in preparing for progression into higher education, apprenticeships, and professional careers.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with substantial pastoral experience.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a pastoral team.
- Experience in developing and delivering personal development programs.
- Strong understanding of student support systems and academic progression.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a sixth form or college setting.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and student welfare policies.
- Experience with curriculum design and delivery.
- Knowledge of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement and strategy development.
