The Opportunity:

As a Science Teacher Upper Primary, you will play a key role in fostering curiosity and a love of science in young learners. You will lead engaging lessons that incorporate practical applications and support student growth in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, inquiry-based science lessons aligned with international curriculum standards.
  • Collaborate with Learning Enhancement Teachers to provide personalized support and ensure student understanding.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with students to encourage academic achievement and personal responsibility.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in science education.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture and support the school’s mission of academic excellence.
  • Encourage student curiosity and critical thinking through hands-on science activities and real-world applications.
  • Support school events and extracurricular activities that promote a well-rounded education.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field (Elementary and Early Education degrees are also highly valued).
  • At least two years of experience as a lead teacher in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high academic standards and a collaborative teaching approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula, such as IB or Cambridge.
  • Experience with teaching in a bilingual or multicultural setting.
  • Demonstrated success in student engagement and academic achievement.
  • Experience with science-based projects, experiments, and inquiry-based learning.
