The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and versatile Secondary Humanities Teacher to join our Senior School team. The ideal candidate will inspire students from Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5 and contribute to the delivery of high-quality learning experiences in Sociology, Politics, and Economics, with some Geography support also welcomed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Humanities, tailored to the needs of students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Support students in achieving academic success through individualised teaching, pastoral care, and targeted intervention.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver a cohesive and rigorous curriculum aligned with the IGCSE and International A-Level syllabi.
  • Participate in school-wide events, clubs, and co-curricular activities to enrich the student experience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, motivation, and a love of learning.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the Humanities curriculum and incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Contribute to the wider academic and pastoral life of the school, including staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • An honours degree in a related humanities or social science field
  • Experience teaching in the UK education system or in British international schools
  • A current, clear DBS / ICPC / police background check

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Sociology, Politics, and/or Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5
  • Ability to teach a small allocation of Key Stage 3 Geography
  • Familiarity with the IGCSE and International A-Level curricula
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative and international environment
