Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Psychology lessons aligned with curriculum and examination syllabuses.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff to enhance student learning and progress.
  • Set clear learning objectives and regularly assess student understanding.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to motivate and challenge students.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support student improvement through targeted interventions.
  • Monitor and report on student progress in line with whole college policies.
  • Undertake pastoral duties, including form tutoring and monitoring student well-being.
  • Promote the Catholic ethos and values of the school within the classroom and wider community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Psychology at sixth form level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Psychology and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to student development and academic excellence.
  • Familiarity with SEN Code of Practice and relevant assessment procedures.
  • Experience in working with diverse student groups and support staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral roles or form tutoring.
  • Background in Catholic education or a commitment to the Catholic ethos.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with A-level and/or vocational qualifications in Psychology.
