The Opportunity:
As a SEND Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the SEND department by managing records, coordinating meetings, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and GDPR standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate SEND records and provision maps.
- Support referrals and exam access arrangements for students.
- Prepare documentation for EHCPs and annual reviews.
- Coordinate meetings with parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Act as a key point of communication for parents and carers.
- Support teachers with pupil information and progress updates.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and confidentiality requirements.
- Manage a variety of administrative tasks including filing, telephone enquiries, and letter writing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English at Grade 4 or above.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Ability to perform a range of administrative functions such as filing, telephone enquiries, and letter writing.
- Understanding of confidentiality practices in a school setting.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience working within a SEND department or similar educational setting.
- Knowledge of EHCP processes and special educational needs support frameworks.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with administrative software and record-keeping systems.
