The Opportunity:

As a SEND Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the SEND department by managing records, coordinating meetings, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and GDPR standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate SEND records and provision maps.
  • Support referrals and exam access arrangements for students.
  • Prepare documentation for EHCPs and annual reviews.
  • Coordinate meetings with parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Act as a key point of communication for parents and carers.
  • Support teachers with pupil information and progress updates.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Manage a variety of administrative tasks including filing, telephone enquiries, and letter writing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English at Grade 4 or above.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment.
  • Ability to perform a range of administrative functions such as filing, telephone enquiries, and letter writing.
  • Understanding of confidentiality practices in a school setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a SEND department or similar educational setting.
  • Knowledge of EHCP processes and special educational needs support frameworks.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with administrative software and record-keeping systems.
