The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to support the maintenance and upkeep of our school site. This role is essential in ensuring the school environment remains safe, clean, and functional for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the appearance and safety of the school site in accordance with Health and Safety regulations
• Carry out general repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, and decorating
• Maintain the school grounds, including flower beds, sports pitches, and external hard areas
• Support the operation and maintenance of the 3G Sports field
• Ensure the security of the site at all times and manage access control
• Assist with the setup and management of lettings and room preparations
• Act as “banksman” for all deliveries and supervise external contractors
• Perform internal and external cleaning duties and window cleaning as required
• Drive the school minibus for school purposes when directed
• Identify and report damage, vandalism, and maintenance issues to the Site Manager
• Undertake internal repairs to fixtures, fittings, and furniture
• Assist with the redecoration of areas as instructed
• Remove graffiti, gum, and other unsightly materials from school property
• Manage litter patrols and clear drains, gullies, and external areas regularly
• Ensure hazardous materials are safely removed and emergency spillages are cleaned

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in general maintenance and repair work
• Ability to perform a variety of manual and practical tasks
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
• Experience in cleaning and grounds maintenance
• Ability to follow local procedures and participate in staff appraisal

Preferred

• Experience with school environments or similar settings
• Experience in operating a vehicle, including a minibus
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, and decorating skills
• Experience in managing or supervising external contractors
• Familiarity with 3G Sports field maintenance
