The Opportunity:
As a Sports Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the school's Games and PE programme. You will help deliver engaging sports activities, support teaching staff, and contribute to the overall well-being of students. Key Responsibilities:
- Support Games and PE teaching in Lower and Upper Prep
- Assist with swimming lessons for Reception to Year 6 students
- Lead coaching sessions in core sports such as hockey, rugby, netball, and cricket
- Help with the organisation and running of Sports Day
- Provide first aid support to injured students
- Assist with playground supervision and teaching games
- Support teachers in the delivery of lessons
- Accompany children on school trips and residential stays
- Offer after-school sports clubs and co-curricular activities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication and team working skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to undertake first aid training or have existing qualification
Preferred
- Specialism in one of the school’s core sports (hockey, rugby, netball or cricket)
- Experience in swimming teaching or strong swimming ability
- Flexibility to take on additional duties and work evenings or weekends if required
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £16,077.35 per annum (inclusive of statutory holiday pay)
