The Opportunity:

This Sports Undergraduate Placement offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic sporting programme. You will support training sessions, fixtures, and co-curricular sport, while gaining exposure to performance analysis, athletic development, and sports administration. This role is ideal for those looking to develop their coaching skills and immerse themselves in a high-performing sporting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of training sessions and fixtures across a broad range of sports.
  • Assist in the development of pupils from participation level to aspiring elite athletes.
  • Contribute to performance analysis and athletic development initiatives.
  • Engage with boarding life and support students in a residential setting.
  • Work closely with experienced Heads of Sport and performance coaches.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of co-curricular sporting events.
  • Receive mentorship and structured professional guidance throughout the placement.
  • Develop practical skills in sports coaching and education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree in Sports Science, Coaching, Physical Education, or a related discipline.
  • Holding (or working towards) a Level 1 coaching qualification.
  • Confident, organised, and motivated with experience working with young people.
  • Passionate about sport and keen to learn and develop professionally.

Preferred

  • Experience in sports administration or performance analysis.
  • Previous involvement in coaching or mentoring young athletes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with co-curricular activities and student development.
