The Opportunity:

As a Summer School Maths Teacher, you will deliver a dynamic and challenging curriculum to highly capable pupils aged 12 to 14. This is a unique opportunity to inspire young mathematicians and help them explore advanced mathematical concepts in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a centrally planned curriculum that extends beyond standard classroom learning.
  • Support and challenge a group of pupils in problem-solving sessions and structured learning activities.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and high-quality experience for all students during the residential programme.
  • Collaborate with the Vice Principal, Director of Short Courses, and pastoral team to ensure the smooth running of the camp.
  • Participate in pre-camp training and familiarise yourself with the curriculum and materials.
  • Engage in both academic and pastoral responsibilities, contributing to the overall success of the camp.
  • Encourage a culture of mathematical excellence and enthusiasm among students.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver a range of mathematical and non-mathematical activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Maths Teacher with experience in teaching secondary-level mathematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience in delivering engaging and challenging mathematical content.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching gifted and talented students.
  • Familiarity with problem-solving and enrichment mathematics.
  • Experience in residential or summer school settings.
  • Passion for mathematics and a desire to inspire young mathematicians.
  • Experience with curriculum development or enrichment programmes.
