The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and qualified Supply Teacher to join our team on a flexible basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-performing school while enjoying the flexibility of ad-hoc working arrangements. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across various subjects and provide essential administrative support when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in the absence of a teacher, following existing planning or creating new lesson plans as required.
  • Support students with learning and behaviour management in a positive and encouraging manner.
  • Work closely with the Cover Officer to agree on working days and responsibilities.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth running of the school.
  • Maintain accurate records of teaching and learning activities.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure consistency in teaching standards.
  • Provide feedback and support to students in line with the school’s values and vision.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with valid QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work on an ad-hoc basis as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in long-term cover or substitute teaching.
  • Familiarity with a range of teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Experience working in a Church of England school or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Experience with the use of ICT in teaching and learning.
