Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Language and English Literature to pupils of all abilities across the school.
  • Deliver engaging and stimulating lessons that inspire a love of learning and critical thinking.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and participate in the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme.
  • Support students in their academic and personal development through pastoral care and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching and learning.
  • Be open to teaching an additional subject such as Politics, Theology / Ethics / Philosophy or RS.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to teach English Language and English Literature.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Willingness to take on a full role within the school community.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching additional subjects such as Politics, Theology / Ethics / Philosophy or RS.
  • Experience working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
  • Background in extra-curricular leadership or involvement.
  • Experience with teaching English as a second language.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
