Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons that engage students and promote a love of learning.
- Support the development of the English curriculum, using central resources and adapting them to meet student needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Department and other teachers to improve student outcomes.
- Use online platforms and learning tools, such as GCSEPod, to enhance teaching and learning.
- Encourage student achievement through positive reinforcement and celebration of success.
- Contribute to the development of the department, including leadership opportunities and student progression.
- Support students in their academic and personal development, including A Level and GCSE pathways.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching English.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Experience in developing and delivering a curriculum that meets student needs.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or supporting departmental initiatives.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and digital teaching tools.
- Experience in teaching A Level and GCSE English and Media Studies.
- Background in student leadership or pastoral support roles.
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
