Part-Time Teacher of Geography for maternity cover from August 2026 to December 2026.

The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join a successful department on a part-time basis. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to students across all key stages, from S1 to S6.
  • Support the development of students’ knowledge, understanding, and problem-solving skills through engaging and challenging teaching methods.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art technology and resources, including GIS applications, to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Participate actively in the extra-curricular life of the school, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Geography Department to ensure consistent and effective teaching practices.
  • Provide appropriate support and guidance to students, in line with their academic needs and abilities.
  • Contribute to the continued success of the department by maintaining high standards in SQA examinations.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Geography education.
  • Ability to teach across all levels of the Geography curriculum.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality education and fostering student engagement and achievement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Advanced Higher Geography.
  • Competency in using technology applications such as GIS.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Previous involvement in extra-curricular activities within a school setting.
