The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with autism and additional needs, helping them develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to pupils in line with their Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP)
- Assist in delivering creative and engaging learning experiences that support pupil development
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to student success
- Help pupils build communication, social, and life skills in a safe and inclusive environment
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to planning and progress reviews
- Support personal care for pupils as required
- Work closely with the teaching team to create a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Compassionate and patient with a genuine commitment to supporting young people with autism and additional needs
- Qualified in English and Maths at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent)
- Holder of a Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Preferred
- Experience in education, care, or support settings, or a willingness to receive full training
- Interest in or experience with autism and Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Proactive and resilient, with the ability to take on new challenges in a supportive team
