The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with autism and complex needs in their learning and personal development. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive, nurturing environment that helps students thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in preparing and delivering engaging, hands-on learning experiences
  • Assist with 1:1 and small group sessions to support personalized learning plans
  • Encourage emotional regulation and positive behavior through consistent, patient support
  • Supervise pupils during classroom, outdoor, and community-based activities
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and motivated
  • Contribute to creating a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support the delivery of a personalized and holistic curriculum tailored to each student’s needs
  • Assist in developing communication, life skills, and academic outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Preferred

  • Experience working with autistic pupils and/or those with challenging behavior
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
