The Opportunity:
A Temporary Music Teacher is required to cover a maternity leave period starting in September 2026. The role involves delivering high-quality music education at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE (Edexcel), and contributing to a vibrant extra-curricular program and enrichment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective music lessons at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE (Edexcel).
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s extra-curricular music program, including choir, bands, and music technology.
- Support the school’s tradition of European Music Performance tours and participation in external musical events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality music education experience.
- Manage and support students in both academic and performance-based aspects of the music curriculum.
- Participate in school events, including annual Arts Production and school concerts.
- Work with peripatetic tutors to enhance student learning and performance opportunities.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4
- Ability to deliver GCSE (Edexcel) Music curriculum
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred
- Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular music programs
- Experience with Music Technology
- Experience in performing or conducting music
- Experience in working with students of all abilities
- Experience in collaborative teaching and professional development
