The Opportunity:

As a Tutor - Post-16 Education, you will play a key role in supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities. You will help them achieve their learning goals and develop essential life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, individualised learning sessions tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Create and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) aligned with students’ Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, health professionals, and therapists.
  • Support students in developing independent living skills, including those related to enterprise, outdoor education, and relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards for both accredited and non-accredited learning outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • PGCE, CertEd or equivalent qualification by experience. QTS/QTLS preferred.
  • Level 3 or above technical and vocational qualifications.
  • Experience in teaching in early years, primary, or post-16 education settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a professional attitude.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering independent living skills, Duke of Edinburgh/Outdoor Adventure Education, and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).
  • Empathy and understanding of young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Experience working with students who have additional needs.
