Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Life Skills and vocational lessons aligned with curriculum plans.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure all learners are actively involved and supported.
  • Support students individually or in groups to build independence and self-esteem.
  • Teach practical vocational skills such as woodwork, DIY, painting, and travel training.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to reports and meetings.
  • Lead and support Learning Support Assistants during lessons and cover teaching when needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments for activities with support from senior leaders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • English and Maths GCSE 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with autism and challenging behaviours.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering Life Skills or vocational education.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Knowledge of teaching strategies for students with complex needs.
