Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality maths lessons that are engaging, challenging, and aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports the emotional and academic growth of all students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Support students through pastoral care, including form tutoring and contributing to their overall wellbeing.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to continually improve teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of school resources and facilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching mathematics at the appropriate level.
  • Strong knowledge of the maths curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in pastoral care or form tutoring.
  • Leadership experience or the potential to take on departmental responsibilities.
  • Experience with collaborative learning techniques such as Kagan strategies.
  • A passion for promoting the importance of maths in everyday life.
