The Opportunity:

As an A Level Biology Teacher, you will lead and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, ensuring outstanding student progress and success. This role offers the flexibility of working part-time or full-time, with the potential to contribute to GCSE Biology as well. You will play a key role in shaping student outcomes and supporting their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A Level Biology lessons that engage students and promote deep learning
  • Coordinate effective teaching, learning, and assessment across both years of A Level Biology
  • Act as an A Level personal tutor to support student development and achievement
  • Contribute to the wider A Level enrichment programme
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of teaching and learning in line with the school’s standards
  • Stay up to date with recent developments in the scientific sector and incorporate them into teaching
  • Support students in making positive progress towards their academic goals
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learning experience for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in A Level Biology
  • Experience in delivering A Level Biology curriculum
  • Strong understanding of the scientific sector and recent industry developments
  • Ability to coordinate and lead teaching and learning across both years of A Level Biology
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering GCSE Biology
  • Experience with vocational education or work-based learning
  • Experience in developing and leading enrichment programmes
  • Experience with personal tutoring and student support
  • Experience with quality monitoring and assessment frameworks
