The Opportunity:

As a Development Manager - Philanthropy & Engagement, you will be instrumental in driving the school’s fundraising and community engagement initiatives. You will lead the Annual Appeal and steward relationships with alumni, parents, and supporters, ensuring long-term donor engagement and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and growing the Annual Appeal regular giving and legacy giving programmes, with a focus on increasing participation and year-on-year growth
  • Managing a personal portfolio of mid-level donors and prospective donors, building strong relationships and fostering long-term support
  • Developing compelling fundraising and impact communications across print, digital, and email channels
  • Using data and KPIs to inform fundraising and engagement strategy, improving donor journeys and outcomes
  • Supporting the delivery of cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship events in the UK and overseas
  • Developing and delivering community engagement programmes tailored to different audiences, including alumni, parents, and supporters
  • Collaborating with senior colleagues across Development, Marketing, and the wider school to strengthen relationships and demonstrate the impact of philanthropy

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in fundraising, community engagement, and relationship management, ideally within an education, charity, or not-for-profit environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach
  • Commitment to community engagement and philanthropy

Preferred

  • Experience with donor stewardship and legacy giving programmes
  • Knowledge of fundraising software and data management systems
  • Experience in event planning and execution
  • Experience with impact communications and storytelling
