The Opportunity:

As an Academic Coordinator Secondary School, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of students, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 and 4. This is a leadership position that offers the chance to influence curriculum design and support staff development in a dynamic, international setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the implementation of Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum, ensuring alignment with CIE guidelines.
  • Lead and support teachers through professional development, mentoring, and training initiatives.
  • Coordinate and monitor assessment, progression, and reporting systems across the secondary department.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the school’s educational goals and standards are met.
  • Foster strong communication with staff, parents, and students to maintain a positive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Utilize technology to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements, including maintaining a clean background check.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant subject; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in teaching and leadership within an international or similar school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum design, assessment, and progression.
  • Familiarity with CIE guidelines and school curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology for teaching, learning, and administration.
  • Valid police check or background clearance with no concerns regarding suitability to work with children.

Preferred

  • Experience in mentoring and training teachers.
  • Demonstrated passion for professional development and continuous learning.
  • Experience in a British curriculum setting.
