The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced After School Care Assistant to join our Preparatory School team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, engagement, and development of children during after school hours, while supporting the school's mission of providing outstanding care and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise children and ensure their safety at all times
- Engage with children through play, conversation, and structured activities
- Set up and manage optional activities for children
- Meet and greet parents and provide regular feedback on their child's time in after school care
- Maintain a welcoming and stimulating environment for children
- Support the smooth running of the after school care program
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children
- Assist with administrative tasks related to after school care
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to child safety and welfare
- Flexibility to work term time only and part time hours
Preferred
- Previous experience in after school care or similar roles
- Knowledge of child development and play-based learning
- First aid or safeguarding qualifications
- Experience with administrative tasks or record-keeping
Compensation & Benefits:
