The Opportunity:

As an After School Care Assistant, you will help deliver a purposeful, creative and nurturing extension of the school day for children. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners and contribute to the development of a growing after school provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the welfare, safety and wellbeing of children through high-quality care and supervision
  • Plan and deliver a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities, including creative, physical and enrichment opportunities
  • Create an organised, engaging and well-resourced play environment
  • Build genuine, positive relationships with children and support their social and emotional development
  • Reflect on practice and adapt provision to meet the individual needs of children
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers and school staff to ensure strong communication and consistency
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality at all times
  • Contribute to the effective handling of concerns, incidents or complaints in a professional manner

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with primary-aged children in a school, childcare or play setting
  • Ability to create a safe, inclusive, stimulating and welcoming environment where every child feels valued and happy
  • High expectations of behaviour and the ability to build positive relationships with children and families
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the provision
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities

Preferred

  • Experience in planning and delivering creative, physical and enrichment activities
  • Experience in reflecting on practice and adapting provision to meet the needs of children
  • Experience in working collaboratively with parents, carers and school staff
  • Experience in maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality
  • Experience in contributing to the handling of concerns, incidents or complaints
