The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Art and Design Technician to join a dynamic team and support the delivery of creative learning in a range of subjects, including food technology and design. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and inspiring learning environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain resources, materials, and equipment for Art, Design & Technology lessons.
• Support teaching staff and students during practical lessons across a range of subjects.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards in the workshop and classroom environments.
• Manage and operate CAD and CAM equipment effectively.
• Assist with the organisation and storage of materials and tools.
• Collaborate with department staff to enhance the learning experience.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-ordered workspace.
• Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience working as an Art, Design & Technology Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of CAD and CAM technologies.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in a workshop environment.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both students and staff.
• Proactive and responsible approach to work.

Preferred

• Experience in a school or educational setting.
• Previous experience in a range of Art and Design Technology specialisms.
• Experience with food technology and workshop-based learning.
• Additional qualifications in Art, Design, or Technology.
