The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Headteacher - Safeguarding and Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students. This is a key leadership position that supports the school’s mission to create a supportive and inclusive environment for every child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee safeguarding policies and procedures across the school.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusion and support for vulnerable students.
- Collaborate with external agencies to ensure the safety and welfare of students.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on safeguarding and inclusion matters.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding and inclusion initiatives.
- Represent the school at relevant meetings and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements related to safeguarding.
- Support the Headteacher in maintaining a culture of safety and respect.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
- Experience in developing and implementing inclusion strategies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and external agencies.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
Preferred
- Experience in a large, high-performing school or academy.
- Experience with curriculum development and student support programs.
- Familiarity with the Ofsted inspection framework.
- Experience in managing school-wide behaviour policies.
