The Opportunity:
As a Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting and educating young people with autism and complex needs. You will help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment tailored to the individual needs of each student. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and support young people with autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD, and associated complex needs.
- Develop and deliver engaging, structured lessons tailored to the needs of individual pupils.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet the strengths and needs of each learner.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
- Collaborate with other staff to create a safe and structured learning environment.
- Support students in developing life skills and preparing for adulthood.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Promote the welfare and emotional well-being of all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience.
- Experience teaching and supporting young people with autism and complex needs.
- Strong understanding of effective teaching and assessment practices in early and lower key stages.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated resilience and a caring, compassionate approach to working with vulnerable young people.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in behaviour management and working with students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Experience in developing life skills and preparing students for adulthood.
