The Opportunity:
As an Athletic Development Teaching Assistant, you will support the delivery of athletic development across a range of sports and age groups. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a thriving sports programme, contributing to the physical and personal development of students in a progressive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and deliver strength and conditioning sessions across a range of school sports
- Assist with long-term athletic development programmes for pupils aged 8 to 18
- Support movement competency, speed, agility and injury prevention work
- Coach within one or more major sports across the Prep and Upper School
- Assist with PE lessons, Games afternoons, training sessions and fixtures
- Support pupils’ wider development and wellbeing
- Contribute to the co-curricular and boarding life of the school, including evening boarding duties
- Support sports events, tours and competitions, including weekend commitments
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, Physical Education or a related field
- Experience coaching or supporting young athletes
- A strong interest in youth athletic development and school sport
- Ability to communicate confidently and work well within a team
- Organised, proactive and enthusiastic approach to work
Preferred
- UKSCA/ASCC accreditation
- Coaching qualifications
- First Aid qualifications
