The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting student attendance and ensuring the well-being of vulnerable learners. This is a key position within the Central Administration Team, where you will contribute to the smooth running of the school and help shape the academic experience of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance data, identifying trends and concerns
  • Work closely with Safeguarding, Welfare & Skills, and Curriculum teams to implement timely interventions
  • Support students on Health & Wellbeing Plans and monitor attendance for EHCP students and safeguarded learners
  • Communicate with families and participate in home visits where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported in line with policy
  • Contribute to attendance improvement strategies across the school
  • Support admissions, transition, and college events, acting as a positive role model
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of events and day-to-day activities across the academic calendar

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in a customer-facing or administrative role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Commitment to supporting student success and well-being

Preferred

  • Experience in education or student support services
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies
  • Experience with managing attendance data and reporting systems
  • Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk learners
  • Experience in a school or college setting
