The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting student attendance and ensuring the well-being of vulnerable learners. This is a key position within the Central Administration Team, where you will contribute to the smooth running of the school and help shape the academic experience of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student attendance data, identifying trends and concerns
- Work closely with Safeguarding, Welfare & Skills, and Curriculum teams to implement timely interventions
- Support students on Health & Wellbeing Plans and monitor attendance for EHCP students and safeguarded learners
- Communicate with families and participate in home visits where appropriate
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported in line with policy
- Contribute to attendance improvement strategies across the school
- Support admissions, transition, and college events, acting as a positive role model
- Assist in the planning and coordination of events and day-to-day activities across the academic calendar
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in a customer-facing or administrative role
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Commitment to supporting student success and well-being
Preferred
- Experience in education or student support services
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies
- Experience with managing attendance data and reporting systems
- Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk learners
- Experience in a school or college setting
