The Opportunity:

As a Grounds Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of sports surfaces and surrounding areas, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and visually appealing throughout the year. This role plays a vital part in supporting sport and recreation, and contributes to the overall environment of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and prepare sports surfaces and surrounding grounds to a high standard.
• Ensure the safety and functionality of both natural and artificial facilities.
• Carry out regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent damage and ensure longevity.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet all grounds-related objectives.
• Manage and operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with the preparation of the site for events and daily activities.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-kept environment across the school grounds.
• Demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to work, including occasional weekend duties during the cricket season.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
• Knowledge of sports surface maintenance and groundskeeping practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekend work during the cricket season.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of work.
• Experience with the use of grounds maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
• Understanding of artificial turf and pitch maintenance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
