The Opportunity:
As a Business Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient day-to-day operations of the school, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring a collaborative and positive working environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, supportive, and innovative educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage daily tasks and issues requiring resolution by support services teams, escalating as necessary
- Support the Head, SLT, and Prep Schools’ Bursar in developing and implementing strategic initiatives
- Line manage key operational staff and ensure appropriate resourcing for school operations and events
- Manage the Estates Manager, Head of Grounds, and other key staff to maintain high service standards
- Oversee the maintenance and management of the school’s vehicle fleet
- Take ownership of the budgets for the teams managed by this role
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency of school operations
- Liaise with commercial colleagues to align lettings activities with school operations
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Background in facilities/estate management, school administration, or operations management
- Experience in managing budgets and teams
- Proven ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships
- Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
- Strong IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Excellent oral and written English
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- High levels of personal and professional integrity
Preferred
- Experience working in a school environment
- Knowledge of ISI regulations and inspections
- Experience with ‘Safer Recruitment’ in schools
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ISAMs
