The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is essential to the smooth running of the school and requires a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain site security and safeguarding the premises, including acting as a registered keyholder.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of lighting, heating, and other essential systems across the school.
  • Complete minor repair tasks and undertake general porterage duties as required.
  • Work closely with other members of the site team and the Facilities, Health and Safety Manager.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication to identify and address issues promptly.
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and order throughout the school.
  • Support the school in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong commitment to carrying out duties to the highest standard.
  • Excellent attendance and consistent punctuality.
  • Patience, perseverance, and a sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Experience in maintenance or similar roles is preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience with school environments or facilities management.
  • Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with health and safety procedures.
  • Previous experience in a caretaker or porter role.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £24,602 - £25,380 per year.
