The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher with the potential for a TLR2B role. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on student achievement and to contribute to a school that values high-quality, inclusive teaching and the overall wellbeing of its community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire and engage students across all key stages.
  • Support students in achieving their academic and personal goals through effective teaching and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards and improve student outcomes.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as a Raising Standards Lead for one year group (Years 7-11), if appointed.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, kindness, and respect within the school.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
  • Experience in raising standards through innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience with Teaching and Learning Responsibilities (TLR).
  • Background in inclusive education practices.
